【摘要】:Thispracticedefinesaprocedurethatensuresconsistentpreparationofspecimensforproducttestingandevaluation.Thispracticecanbeusedinthelaboratoriesofproducers,users,andgeneral-interestpartiesforresearchanddevelopmentorquality-controlwork.Itisparticularlyusefulforinterlaboratorycomparisonsorproducts,forrepetitiveevaluationsorcomparisonsofproductsorproductquality,andinspecifyingauniformpreparationpracticeforspecimensforacceptancetesting.Inusingthispracticeitmustberecognizedthatthestructureoflaboratory-castspecimensmaydiffersignificantlyfromthestructureofmaterialcastinfieldapplications.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforpreparingtestspecimensfromabasicrefractorycastablebycastingpreparedmaterialinamold.SpecimenspreparedinaccordancewiththisprocedureareintendedforuseinASTMtestmethods.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
