【摘要】:PreparationMethodA8212;Methodsuitableforthepreparationoflargequantities(>20g)offieldcollectedsamplesintoaformappropriateforcompositionalanalysis.Woodysamplesmustfirstbeavailableaschipsofanominal5by5by0.6cm(2by2byx00BC;in.)orlessandtwigsnotexceeding0.6cm(x00BC;in.)diameter.Herbaceousmaterialsmaybeprocessedaswholestraw.Itisrecommendedthatwastepapershouldbeshreddedintopieceslessthen1cm(x00BD;in.)wide.Furthermore,itisrecommendedthattwigs,strawandwastepapershouldnotexceed61cm(24in.)inlengthtofacilitatehandling.PreparationMethodsBandC8212;Testmethodsaresuitableforverymoistfeedstocks,samplesthatwouldnotbestableduringprolongedexposuretoambientconditions,orfordryingmaterialswhenroomconditionsdeviatefromtheambientconditionsdescribedin3.1.1.Thesetestmethodsarealsosuitableforhandlingsmallsamplesofbiomass(x003C;20g).Thedryingstepisdoneinaconvectionovenat45x00B0;C(TestMethodB)orbylyophilization(TestMethodC).Thispracticeisnotintendedformaterialsthatwillalreadypassthrougha20meshsieveorcannotbedriedbythedescribedmethodstoatotalsolidscontentofgreaterthen85%,basedonanovendriedweight.Thispracticewillseparatethemilledmaterialintotwofractions,ax2212;20/+80meshfractionandax2212;80meshfraction.Extraneousinorganicmaterialswillaccumulateinthe-80meshfractionanditshouldbeanalyzedindependentlyfromthe-20/+80meshfraction.Weightedresultsfromthetwofractionscanthenbecombinedtoobtainresultsformaterialsonan"asreceived"basis.Note18212;Duringanalysis,theveryfineconsistencyofthe-80meshfractionmaycauseproblemsinfilteringoperationsandshouldbehandledappropriately.1.1Thispracticecoversareproduciblewaytoconverthardwoods,softwoods,herbaceousmaterials(suchasswitchgrassandsericea),agriculturalresidues(suchascornstover,wheatstraw,andbagasse),wastepaper(suchasofficewaste,boxboard,andnewsprint),feedstockspretreatedtoimprovesuitabilityforfermentationandfermentationresiduesintoauniformmaterialsuitableforcompositionalanalysis.1.2Millingandsievingactionsbothproducelargeamountsofdust.Thisdustcanbeanuisancehazardandirritant.Useappropriaterespiratoryprotectionasneeded.Ifexcessiveamountsofdustareallowedtobecomeairborneapotentialexplosionhazardispossible.Provideappropriatedustcontrolmeasuresasneeded.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
