【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesinformationregardingthebehaviorofcellularmaterialsundercompressiveloads.Testdataisobtained,andfromacompleteload-deformationcurveitispossibletocomputethecompressivestressatanyload(suchascompressivestressatproportional-limitloadorcompressivestrengthatmaximumload)andtocomputetheeffectivemodulusofelasticity.Compressiontestsprovideastandardmethodofobtainingdataforresearchanddevelopment,qualitycontrol,acceptanceorrejectionunderspecifications,andspecialpurposes.Thetestscannotbeconsideredsignificantforengineeringdesigninapplicationsdifferingwidelyfromtheload-timescaleofthestandardtest.Suchapplicationsrequireadditionaltestssuchasimpact,creep,andfatigue.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshallbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,oracombinationthereof,coveredinthematerialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.Iftherearenomaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedurefordeterminingthecompressivepropertiesofrigidcellularmaterials,particularlyexpandedplastics.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinbracketsareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThistestmethodandISO844aretechnicallyequivalent.
